Love for Intersections Exhibition

Lots of love still pouring in for Platform Gallery’s Intersections exhibition - thanks to Uppercase Magazine, Scout Magazine, Vancouver is Awesome and the CBC for their support! Above is a photo of Cathy getting interviewed by the CBC on her poster for Denman & Davie.

Intersections opening night

We had an awesome night at The Chinatown Experiment last Thursday, January 31st, 2013 for the opening of the Intersections Exhibition, now installed at Waterfront Station in Vancouver until the summer. Thanks again to The Platform Gallery for a great night!

Check out the Platform Gallery’s website to see a list of the contributors, who all submitted beautiful work (ours was the Denman & Davie one).

Intersections poster show!

We’re so happy to be a part of the Intersections exhibition for the Platform Gallery here in Vancouver. Intersections is a reflection of Vancouver through its city streets — small hubs where shared experience unfolds on a daily, often unnoticed, basis. Seven graphic designers were each assigned an intersection and the simple brief to encapsulate that particular corner’s past, present and future.

Thanks to Grace and Ross from Working Format for inviting us to be a part of this!

Collage Collage! We created the invitations (and postcards and schedules) for our friends at Collage Collage and joined them to make sock puppets to celebrate a very merry 3rd birthday. Congratulations!

Doodle while you wait

New placemats we made for our friend Erin at Collage Collage, our favourite art studio and carrier of everything we love. Kids and adults can colour while they wait for a meal or coffee at local restaurants and cafes here in Vancouver.

Night of the Hunter

Postcards to Alphaville” is a project dedicated to film characters featured in guest-made illustrations. Everyone participating in this adventure has to watch a film and make postcard portraying specific character from it. It is love-letter to films and those characters that brings us, the viewers, moments of joy, sorrow and revelation and sometimes seems more real than the neighbor next-door.

Check out Liam’s contribution to the project:

We are so very honoured to be designing a website and creating album artwork for Shawn Mrazek. His latest project, Shawn Mrazek Lives! / Thought He Was Dead will be released later this year. The record includes guest appearances by many of the friends and fellow musicians he’s played with through the years, including Hayz Fisher (The Modernettes, The New Values), Adrian Teacher (Apollo Ghosts), Stephen Hamm (Slow, Jungle, Canned Hamm), JP Carter (Destroyer), Chris-a-riffic (They Shoot Horses Don’t They?), Nicole Dale (Tit Canon), and Molly Matusicky (Murder Burger).
